There has been tremendous controversy as there have been recent rumors about her serving with the Galactic Empire, then defecting after causing the destruction of two republic transports during the Battle of Hoth. She was recently promoted to the Commanding Officer of the flagship of the Galactic Republic, the ISD Dauntless.

[edit] History
[edit] Growing up
Aora Nomirc was born on Coruscant during the end of the Clone Wars. She found herself in thriving under the control of the Imperial rule. The economy had never been better and the crime in the area was low. She grew up learning to fly Z-95's and using her off time to enjoy differing hobbies that ranged from pretending to be in the Imperial Army, to playing several sports and enjoying several teams.
The wayward captain grew up with many friends, forming friendships that would ultimately prove disastrous. Finding a natural talent for flying, she quickly enrolled in several different schools that would allow her to refine her natural talent.
At the age of seventeen, Aora applied to join the Military Academy. She had tried several times before with little success, in this instance she actually had been propositioned by a Trainer. The test was to win in a simulated experience against the other pilots for a guaranteed spot. Using a hydrogenous name she joined and was able to defeat all the other applicants. She was signed immediately signed up, before any officers could say anything.
[edit] Life as an Imperial Officer
Aora was assigned to a small fleet that was to be the support group for the Empire's newest super weapon. The support fleet didn't see much action in that instance as the Deathstar was destroyed before they actually arrived. She found life as an Imperial Officer to be very relaxing. She enjoyed the strict order, and also the mantra of force by show of force - not necessarily force itself. She also got along well with her fellow officers. She slowly began to see the flaw in the design. It was especially apparent in the way that the Empire dealt with the Prisoners of War.
She found herself doubting the Empire's way of life more and more. This was increasingly apparent when, at the Battle of Hoth, she was ordered to destroy two transports for simply trying to escape. She defected from the Empire and joined the Galactic Republic's Ranks.
[edit] Life as a Republic Officer
The Galactic Republic was a far cry better from the life of an Imperial. She did find it hard growing accustomed to not having as much control and allowing those less qualified to guide your actions. She stayed as a starfighter pilot for a few more years before being transferred as Commander as a small flotilla. After several successful operations, she was transferred to command of the ISD Dauntless.
[edit] Current Events
After taking command of the Dauntless, Aora quickly moved to clear out remaining pirate threats that existed close in the core world system. She was also involved in a campaign with a small droid fleet that had found it's way into the Coruscant Space.
The war had finally started to escalate as well. The Dauntless was formed into a battle group with it as the flagship and several operations had began. Operation Grafmortum was designed to attack the Empire on multiple fronts in a short amount of time. Aora was able to gain several victories including complete victories at Ithor and Bothawui.
[edit] The Battle of Naboo
The Naboo Invasion was to be Aora's final official command for the New Republic. The ISD Dauntless was on patrol in the core system when an emergency broadcast was transmitted. Aora Nomirc took command of what elements of the 1st Coruscant Battle Group that was available and immediately headed for Naboo.
When they arrived, The fleet found that Naboo was heavily under siege by an Imperial Task Force. The fleet quickly moved in behind the group and began bombarding the ships. The battle was going well, and Aora pushed forward to finish the task force off. The Empire had set a trap, however. Two Imperial Star Destroyers quickly arrived, and began to decimate the fleet. They destroyed two ships in the initial attack, alone. The Fleet was stuck as it could not escape due to the Interdictor.
Aora, making a command decision, ordered the Dauntless into the middle of the fleet, attacking and destroying the Interdictor. It would prove a fatal mistake for the Dauntless. The ship was cut to ribbons as the Imperial ships unloaded onto it. Aora ordered everyone to abandon ship. The disabled behemoth was caught by Naboo's Gravity and pulled down, crash landing on the planet.
[edit] Rebellion on Naboo
Aora had survived the crash, finding her way to the middle of the vessel as the rest of the hulk was destroyed and smashed around her. Once the ship had stopped moving, she quickly left and melded into the Populace. She fought several Rebellion tactic missions with the Naboo Rebellion untill her narrowing escape with the help of Xarakis Starsunder.[edit] Return to the Republic
When Aora returned, She was quickly rushed off to several debriefings. She was brought before a board and was found that her actions were justified. While she was cleared of any wrong doing, her career was in shambles. She would never again be allowed to command any major ship of note. She was actually absorbed into the Naval Intelligence Bureau, where she serves today.
